a new gig

This is just a quick note about a new gig I was just offered for the fall. I will be the alto soloist in the Mozart Requiem in October with Orchestra Seattle/Seattle Chamber Singers. It's not a huge or flashy solo in any way (mostly quartet singing with the other soloists, and not even very much of that!), but it is one of my all time favorite pieces. I've sung it many times as a choir member, and heard it even more often from the audience, and now I'll have the chance to do it as a soloist as well! It's a stunningly beautiful and moving piece. My mom says, "it's one of the many reasons I'm glad I have ears." Hee hee...
